Park Model vs RV

Both a park model and an RV can put a place to stay on your lot — but they're built for very different things. An RV is made to travel; a park model is made to stay and live like a small home. If you want a cabin, a getaway, or a rental that holds up year-round, here's how they compare.

Space & comfort

A park model gives you up to about 400 square feet of real living space with residential-style finishes — full kitchen, a real bathroom, a bedroom and often a loft. An RV trades living space for the ability to drive it down the road, with tighter quarters and RV-grade fixtures. For anything more than short trips, the park model simply lives better.

Four-season living

Ours are built with 2x6 walls, real insulation, a metal roof, and residential HVAC, so they hold up to Alabama summers and cold snaps alike. Most RVs are built light for travel and struggle in sustained heat or cold. If the cabin will be used year-round — or rented in every season — that difference matters.

Rental income

Financing & placement

Because our cabins carry the ANSI 119.5 park-model certification, they qualify for park-model RV financing — the same loan category, with a product built to last. Both park models and RVs are commonly placed in RV resorts and on private land; a park model stays put on a pad or piers rather than being moved constantly. Delivery is included in the price — that means we transport your finished cabin and park it in place at your site. Setting the home (blocking, leveling, and tie-down) is a separate step handled by your own contractor and is not included, along with the pad, site prep, and utility hookups. If you need someone to set it, we're glad to recommend a contractor who does that work, paid directly to them.

Is a park model better than an RV for a cabin?
For staying put - a cabin, getaway, or rental - yes. A park model gives you more living space, residential finishes, and true four-season construction. An RV is better if you actually want to travel with it.

Can you finance a park model like an RV?

Typically, yes. Guests pay a premium for a cabin that feels like a home, so a distinctive park model tends to book faster and command higher nightly rates than an RV in the same location.

Can I move a park model like an RV?
Not the same way - it isn't made to tow down the highway regularly. It sits on a heavy steel frame with removable axles you keep, so it can be relocated with proper transport, but it's built to stay in place.

Do you deliver and set it up?
We deliver only - transporting the finished cabin and parking it in place within 100 miles of Lynn, AL. Setting the home (blocking, leveling, tie-down) is a separate contractor step, not included.
